History of Esperanto

Created by L. L. Zamenhof in Poland in 1887, Esperanto aimed to foster international understanding through a neutral language. Despite persecution under Hitler and Stalin, Esperanto survived and thrived. Today there's a vibrant community with literature, music, annual congresses, and even native speakers (denaskuloj).

Is Esperanto Hard to Learn?

Easy

Esperanto was designed to be easy: completely regular grammar, no exceptions, phonetic spelling, and vocabulary from European languages. Studies show it can be learned in a fraction of the time of natural languages and helps accelerate learning other languages.
