History of Fulfulde

Fulfulde is the language of the Fulani people, historically pastoralist cattle herders who spread across the Sahel. The Fulani established major Islamic states including the Sokoto Caliphate. Today they are found in virtually every Sahelian country. The Adlam script was invented by teenage brothers in Guinea in 1989 and is gaining popularity.
