History of Armenian
Armenian is its own branch of Indo-European, as isolated as Greek or Albanian. The alphabet was created by Mesrop Mashtots in 405 AD to translate the Bible. Armenia was the first nation to adopt Christianity (301 AD). The Armenian diaspora, formed by the 1915 genocide, has spread the language globally.
Is Armenian Hard to Learn?
Armenian requires learning a unique 38-letter alphabet created in 405 AD. As an Indo-European language, some vocabulary cognates exist with English. Grammar has no gender but has complex verb conjugations. Eastern and Western Armenian have notable differences.
